Shalom Saccos limited (SSL) is a savings and credit cooperative society for Child development workers (CDWs) from Frontline Church Partners (FCPs) of Tanzania Mainland. Frontline Church Partners (FCPs) refers to all evangelical churches in partnership with compassion International Tanzania (CIT). These Evangelical churches have hired three to four workers who runs Child Ministry; these workers are Project Director, Project Social Worker, Project Accountant and Homebased Implementer (HBI). There are about 455 Projects in Tanzania mainland each with three to four workers with a contract of two to three years of service.
Shalom saccos ltd was developed due to difficulties of those workers to obtain loans from financial institutions such as banks and private financial companies due to lack of reputable collateral (Unmovable collateral).
Shalom Saccos limited (SSL) as a cooperative society, is owned by members who are child development worker having at least twenty primary shares purchased during registration or three months from date of registration.
National wise shalom saccos limited operates under the board (which there are seven members of board including the chairman), Supervision committee (They act as Internal control unit of finance), Loan board (Check and review all loan applications before disbursing) and sacco workers (These are experts/staff running daily activities)
In every district we have special Team that deals with over see of the members closely. This team is lead by a Team Leader. A Team leader is a person who supervises child development workers within a cluster level. Each cluster with shalom members have one Team leader. During loan application, a Team Leader have the responsibility to assure the County office about the genuinely of the information of the member. At project level we have the Pastor who assures county office about validity of the information provided.
Child development workers from all regions of Tanzania mainland have an opportunity to register with shalom saccos limited and claim for loan if they wish to do so. They have access to deposit savings through NMB Bank, with number 50610009672 and name shalom saccos limited. Members are highly encouraged to pay through the bank account to avoid fraud.
In general overview of shalom saccos limited; The management and Organization is spectacular. Leaders works online, country office leaders have no need to see a member in order to give service to them. Workers are all joining from various regions of the country. We hope by the end of 2025 about 700 child development workers from all regions in Tanzania Mainland will have joined Shalom saccos limited.
